If you go for a beach vacation and don’t even get to stay near the beach then there is no fun in the beach vacation. This Is just my point of view. I feel that the distance between the hotel and beach should be short so that you can spend maximum time relaxing on the beach and enjoying your vacation to the fullest.
Few weeks back we were just discussing about doing something on the weekend and suddenly my husband suggested Myrtle Beach. Last year we were planning a trip to Myrtle Beach but the hotel prices were rocket high even for the ones which were miles away from the beach. To me it was a big NO and those plans didn’t materialize because I don’t believe in paying $300 a night for a below average room with no view.
So last month when my husband suggested Myrtle Beach I thought why not? Kids will be in School and it shouldn’t be as bad because it was an ordinary weekend. We decided to leave on Friday morning and return on Sunday night so we had a good 2 nights and 3 days to enjoy and relax. We started early so we could avoid the rush hour and we hit Myrtle Beach without any stops right in 3 hrs 30 mins! Did I mention it was me who was driving and it was my first time ever driving more than 100 miles on a highway?? Wohooo!
We checked in at The Camelot by the Sea and had booked a studio apartment because we wanted the ocean view and also wanted to keep a close eye on our toddler. The other rooms which we saw didn’t have the view from the bedroom but from the living area of the room. We finalized on a studio and got a decent sized room with a stunning view. We paid $160 per night and booked the room on Vacatia.
Some of the amenities which we utlized were :
- Free parking,
- Pools : hot tub (2), swimming pools (2), Lazy river (1), Kids Pool (1) .
- WIFI
- ATM Machine on site
- Dunkin Donuts
My toddler enjoyed the lazy river and hot tub the most! We were so relaxed and did everything at our own pace.

The best part of this vacation was the view and private entry to the beach through the hotel. The beach was really empty and we enjoyed hanging out on the beach. Very less crowds, clean and gorgeous! Me and my husband also woke up to see the sunrise and I also happened to capture a timelapse video of the sun rising, believe me it is the most beautiful experience ever!
If you are going to Myrtle Beach with your family there are lots of things to do, We went to Broadway at the Beach and it was really beautiful. You can go for a boat ride, aquarium, carousel ride or lots of other rides to enjoy for your kids. Check out the cool museums and the mermaids at the Ripley’s Aquarium.

We checked out of the hotel on Sunday and decided to do a small trip to Charleston, South Carolina! That was an impulse decision and we are so glad we went there. Charleston is such a beautiful town. The history, colorful houses on Rainbow Row and the guy playing the violin in downtown will make you fall in love with the place. If you visit Charleston, do not forget to go look at the beautiful houses on Rainbow Row street.

My Mother’s Day ended beautifully and the whole weekend with my family was more than I could ask for! Hope yours was equally great! Thank you for reading my blog, hope you liked it. xoxo
What an amazing vacay! I used to love visiting Myrtle Beach as a child with my parents. Can’t wait to visit with my kiddo’s. Your view was also amazing!
Thank you so much Maia… I hope you have a great time 🙂
